Portfolio Pal

FAQ

Short answers to the questions parents ask most.

Do I have to use my voice?

No. Talk, type, or add photos and documents — whatever feels easiest that day.

Will AI invent learning we didn't do?

No. Portfolio Pal only organizes what you capture. You review every moment before it becomes part of your portfolio.

What if I miss a few days?

That's okay. Tap the date on Today, pick a past day, and catch up whenever you're ready — no guilt.

Can I add photos later?

Yes. Open any learning moment in History and add photos or documents whenever you want.

Is the portfolio okay for evaluators?

The portfolio is assembled from records you already reviewed — dated entries, subjects, and evidence you attached. After you pick your state, we check it against what families there are typically asked to show. It is not an official state form. Always verify local rules.

What if my evaluator says the portfolio isn’t enough?

If you paid for the Family Plan and your evaluator says this portfolio isn’t enough, we refund the year and help you fix your portfolio. That’s a promise about MyPal Portfolio — a record of what your child did this year.

Why do you ask for my state?

Your state unlocks a readiness checklist — subjects, portfolio or testing notes, and day benchmarks that are typically expected. You must select a state before generating a portfolio. This is general reference, not legal advice.

Do I need a planner or grade book too?

Portfolio Pal helps with documentation and state-aware portfolio readiness — not curriculum scheduling or grading. Keep whatever tools you already like for planning lessons.

Can more than one parent use it?

Anyone with the account can capture. The Today screen is simple enough to pick up cold.

Is Portfolio Pal free?

Yes — the whole app, through November 20, 2026. No card. After that, you can stay on Free for one child at $0, or start Family for $4.99/month if you want every child, full history, and the evaluator PDF. We don’t charge you unless you choose Family.

What is included in Free vs Family?

Free: 1 child, capture and AI, last 30 days, state checklist. No evaluator PDF. Family: Whole family, full history, and the evaluator PDF. $4.99/month or $49/year. Through November 20, everyone gets Family features at no charge.

When does early access end?

November 20, 2026. If we still can’t take payment then, nothing changes until we can. We’ll tell you either way.

What happens on November 20?

Nothing bills you. The next day, the everyone-gets-everything window ends — and only if we can take payment. One child stays free. If you want Family, that’s when you can start it at $4.99/month or $49/year. We’ll email you before the date.

I already have more than one child. What happens?

We will not delete anyone. After November 20, adding another child and the evaluator PDF are Family features. You can stay on Free with one child, or start Family when you want the whole household unlocked.

Do you charge per child?

No. Family is one price for the whole family, either month to month or once for the school year.

Can I pay for a year?

Yes. Family yearly is $49. That is the same product as $4.99/month, billed once. You can start it after November 20, if you want it.

How do I cancel Family without losing my records?

Open Settings and cancel Family. One click stops Square billing. Your account stays on Free. You never have to visit Square.

How do I close my account or export my records?

Open Settings. Export everything downloads your learning moments as a JSON file. Close account stops billing if needed, then deletes this login and records. That cannot be undone.

How do I contact you?

Email [email protected]. We read every note from families.
